Each person has a purpose in life. Our purpose gives meaning to our lives. Whether our daily activities are in alignment with our purpose of life is what makes all the difference. Time is an asset which should be taken benefit of before we become occupied. Time is a currency in exchange of which our deeds will be presented on the Judgement day. Time allotted to all the human beings is limited and is melting away like an ice. Either we can stay conscious of our temporary stay on the earth and stay aligned to our meaningful goals or we can forget the temporariness of this world by engaging ourselves in the enjoyment of the coolness of the ice (time) that is melting away.
My key takeaway was that the humans are not created for multitasking but to be mindful in all the pursuits of life. Even the machines do not do that, we are living a myth compromising with all our mental and spiritual peace.
One of the tragedy with the modern men is that he seeks to value those tasks or relationships that fetch him immediate materialistic return. For him, everything has come to be based on cost and benefit analysis and this just steals him of all the experience of happiness and contentment.
I came to know the importance of mindfulness and the true definition of time management and realised its importance as I will be answerable for the life-time that is allotted to me. Mindfulness in my actions will be the basis of my excellence in them.
“The Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit. Only those who come
before Allah with a pure heart [will be saved].”
Surah Ash-Shu’ara, 88-89
It is important to recognize the spiritual diseases and engage oneself in lifelong efforts to cleanse
and purify one’s heart. Just like our physical existence would become feeble and lose all its vitality
owing to lack of attention, proper nutrition, and care; our spiritual existence (our soul) also requires
sincere and continuous care through its purification using various practical and academic treatments
prescribed in Islam.
You will be the first to know when the doors open again,
It was enlightening to understand that the Coolness of the melting ice (passing time) feels so captivating that it sometimes makes us forget the very purpose of our lives. Time is not just a phenomenon, but a constant reminder of our reckoning with our Lord.
